About me and my practice
Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stressed, or depressed? Would you like someone to really listen and understand you? Please read on to see if I may be of help for you.
I am a qualified integrative counsellor and member of the BACP with experience of working face to face and online. I provide a warm, calm, and non-judgmental space for every client. I aim to encourage my clients to explore their feelings, life, and challenges in the hope that the work together will bring insight, relief, and hope. I offer every client a respectful and compassionate experience, supporting them emotionally through their struggles in whatever way they may present.
I have a multicultural background gained from working in a communications company, as a volunteer with childrens charities, and in real estate. I have experience and skills in building confidence in others. I understand the pressures of the modern workplace that can affect stress levels and lead to anxious feelings and strained relationships.
I draw upon different approaches appropriate to each individual client to support them in a way which is best for them. With a deep understanding of transitions and adaptation from my life as a former refugee, I can explore early childhood experiences and their impact using a Psycho-dynamic approach, a person-centred approach with empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard, and as a certified emotional focused family therapist facilitate children and families/couples in conflicts. I also have experience of using trauma informed creative interventions as a young people counsellor at RSVP Birmingham, and with Cadmus Inclusive Services.
Issues worked with: Spiritual and cultural issues, transitions, loss and grief, trauma, neurodiversity, anxiety, low self-esteem, disassociations, relationship breakdowns, school refusals, addictions, womens menopause and sexual abuse,l and racial experiences.
Experience
Living as an expatriate for ten years helped shape my transition
and adaptations, and as such I understand culture clashes and are able to help others adapt to challenging changes.
